PL-300Soil air permeability measuring instrument

1、 Purpose:

Field or field measurement of soil air conductivity characteristics, and determination of soil air conductivity can be used to analyze physical indicators such as soil pore geometry distribution, structure, and soil stability.

2、 Principle:

The air permeability (PL) reflects the pore characteristics of soil particles without water, and it is a function of soil moisture content. During measurement, a measurement chamber is placed at the measurement point, and the instrument generates a known and adjustable airflow (determined by the pressure gradient on the PL-300 host). After the airflow passes through the soil at the measuring point, different air conductivities of the soil will cause different pressure gradient changes. Compared with the standard (calibrated throat), the air conductivity characteristics of the soil at the measuring point can be calculated according to the Darcy equation and displayed on the PL-300 host.

The system can select soil moisture and soil water potential sensors, allowing users to measure soil air conductivity while also measuring soil moisture content and soil water potential. All data is recorded and stored by the host.
